Every October the Newhouse School hosts its annual Fall Workshop, a weekend conference bringing together students and multimedia professionals to produce stories about life in Central New York.
Until now there has never been a definitive web host of all the work created at the workshop. Instagram and Tumblr, sure, but nothing permanent. Each year a team would make it about 3/4 of the way to site launch then get caught up in everything else going on that weekend and drop the project.
This year we wanted to change that—so we started work on a more long-term solution back in August. We designed a responsive, dynamic infinite canvas site that automatically loads content as the user scrolls around. On the back end, we are building a reliable CMS that can be easily updated each year. For the bulk of the project, I have been working remotely from London while emailing and Dropboxing with two professors back in Syracuse.
Launch coming soon! We are in the late stages of development. Check out the live site on fallworkshop.syr.edu.
